Five Little Snowmen Ornaments

Hey all of you girlies....
It's almost time for Christmas!
Are you ready?
I am working on it.
Getting ready to sort and wrap gifts, and make a menu plan for the weekend.
But~
I had one last little bit of craftiness to share with you.
Just in case you need a little something-something for a gift.
Or....
Something just for you!
Have you seen this before?
If not.
Too cute!
All you need is a big round ornament.
White craft paint.
Sharpies.
A paintbrush and a q-tip.

And, of course some sweet little fingers!

Take your child's clean hand.
Paint on the craft paint.
Cover the the whole palm and fingers. And use enough to really make it stick.
Gently wrap your child's hand around the ornament ball.
Try not to let it slip and slide.....
Easier said than done!
And then gently pull away.

Let dry completely.
Decorate the little snowmen with sharpies or other permanent, fine pointed markers.

And add snowflakes by dipping your q-tip in the white paint and adding little dots all over.

Then write the date on the bottom.
Type and print this little poem.....

"These are not just five snowmen,
As anyone can see.
I made them with my little hand,
Which is a part of me.
So when I'm grown and older,
You'll look back and recall,
The Christmas of 2011.....
When my hand was just so small!"

I love you
(put your child's name here)

Isn't that so sweet?
I have been doing this with my little boys each year.....and they love to compare their hand prints from years gone by!
And it melts the heart of this mama to see their sweet little prints each year.

You can even do this after Christmas if you don't have time right now.
Especially if it's for your own little keepsake.

Love, love, love ya!

This has to be one of the BEST creative crafts that I have seen. But, do you have to get a bigger tree every year to accommodate all of those ornaments.
I noticed that you seem to have high ceilings, so you can just keep going up, I suppose!

Thanks for sharing the idea.

Merry Christmas to you and to your family!
